The Surrey County Agricultural Society (SCAS) exists to promote the best in Surrey agriculture and farming.

Our objectives include:

  • The encouragement of agriculture and agricultural employers in their various crafts
  • The advancement of breeding and rearing of livestock
  • Maintaining the public’s interest in the agricultural industry within Surrey

SCAS organises several annual events which help us achieve these objectives – as well as providing fabulous family days out. Our flagship event is the Surrey County Show which has been a feature in the agricultural calendar since 1954. The show is held at Stoke Park in Guildford and welcomes up to 40,000 visitors for a day of spectacular entertainment, top quality competition, food and drink and shopping.

SCAS also organises the annual Surrey Game and Country Fair, held in the beautiful setting of Loseley Park. On the same day as the Fair is the Surrey County Ploughing Match which brings together tractor, horticultural and horse ploughing with ploughmen travelling from all over the UK to compete.

The Surrey Farm, Food and Drink Festival is our third big event. The festival brings together local farmers and food producers who open up their premises so that people can experience life on local farms and taste what’s grown, reared and brewed on their doorsteps. Finally, SCAS runs crop competitions throughout the year.

SCAS donates to various charities including Farming and Countryside Education (F.A.C.E), the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I) and funds training for young farmers.

The Society has a loyal membership, who enjoy various benefits including free admission to our events, use of the special member facilities, discounted entry fees and a regular newsletter.
