Tour and tastings, Albury Organic Vineyard, Albury

3pm

Albury Organic Vineyard is situated on the Southern slopes of the North Downs in the beautiful Surrey Hills. The 12 acres of vines are the traditional Champagne varietals including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and the vineyard produces wine of the highest quality - a rose and three sparkling wines. The vineyard is the only organic wine producer in Surrey with the wine produced using organic fruit without the use of herbicides and fungicides. Copper and sulphate is kept to a minimum and compost tea is used to improve the biology of the soil. This approach produces premium fruit and great wine.

The vineyard's award winning sparkling wine is produced using the same method as Champagne, with secondary fermentation taking place in the bottle over a minimum of two years to give the wine its fizz and special character. Two of the vineyards sparkling wines, Albury Estate Classic Cuvee and Albury Estate Blanc de Blanc won gold awards in the International Organic Wine Awards 2016 and the Classic Cuvee won silver in the Decanter awards, International Wine Competition and UKVA Competition 2016. To add to these accolades, The Independent has recently voted the Silent Pool Rose one of the top 15 Rose wines in the world!

Albury Vineyard is offering a free vineyard tour and tasting on Thursday 1st September at 3pm lasting approximately 90 minutes. You will enjoy a tour of the vineyard with owner Nick and experience tastings of the latest releases. Cold Albury wines will be for sale by the glass and bottle so why not stay and enjoy a drink on the patio overlooking the vineyard and beautiful Surrey Hills.

To book a place call 07768 863650 or email info@alburyvineyard.com as numbers are limited.
